Fall for RI’s Economic Gardener 🍁

Tuni Schartner - mentor for startup business owners- planning workshops & events at The Hive RI

Welcome to our quarterly newsletter!

🍁 First of all, ‘hi and happy Fall’!

It’s been a very busy 2022 for the TS Consulting team, as we’ve been actively working with a number of business strategy and consulting clients on a variety of projects. As summer turned to autumn, several of the projects we’d been working on were successfully completed. So, for the first time this year, we have the capacity to take on a limited number of new clients and new projects. I’d love to hear from you if you have any interesting ideas!

Fortunately I was able to get some much needed rest and feel fully recharged after thoroughly enjoying all that the end of summer and beginning of Fall had to offer, such as riding horses in Arcadia State Park with my stepmom, lots of kayaking with my kids and friends in beautiful Wickford Harbor, walks in Rome Point and as much swimming as possible - the nighttime full moon swims with my sister mermaids were the very best!

I’ve also been unusually busy with volunteer work. Yes, I know that’s typically what I do, but let’s just say about 75% of my time the past month or so has been spent mentoring startup founders and business owners, planning and running a program for DESIGNxRI’s Design Week (photo above), planning workshops and events for The Hive RI and Mill community and working with an amazing team of volunteers on the 4th annual SCORE Women’s Small Business Summit that will be on Tuesday, November 1st. The theme is ‘TogetherWeThrive’ and we have Secretary of Commerce, Liz Tanner, opening up as the keynote (dear friend and inspirational leader), Yemi Sekoni as Mistress of Ceremonies (another dear friend & inspiration), a dynamic moderated panel with 5 impressive and equally inspirational women business owners, and so much more!

We’re wrapping up the small business support program for the Town of Warren (one of our favorite towns in RI) and we continue to absolutely love working with these businesses. If you live here in RI, or plan on visiting, you should take time to visit this unique, creative community, full of art and culture and delicious FOOD! They have so many fun reasons to visit, including their Fall Sunday Warren Walkabouts. Here’s a link to learn about more of their upcoming events!

*I’d love to build & run small business programs like the one in Warren for other municipalities or communities - reach out if you can help us make that happen!

🚀 We’re always busy supporting the innovation sector & small business community whether with our volunteer work mentoring through RI Hub’s VMS program, Social Enterprise Greenhouse’s programs, and Innovation Studio’s programs or working with our individual clients - we really love what we do and who we get to work with. Special shout out to Keith Ranaldi for inviting me to come down to URI’s Launch Lab & talk to his class a few weeks ago!
